2K@30Hz HDMI capture card for streamers

This 15389 capture card accepts a 4K@30Hz HDMI signal and delivers 2K@30Hz or 1080p@60FPS video over USB 3.0. It targets gamers and creators who want a plug-and-play way to record or broadcast from consoles, cameras or mobile devices without installing drivers. The box contains only the capture card itself.

Upgrade from basic USB 2.0 grabbers when latency

The USB 3.0 interface provides a 5 Gbps data path that keeps delay low enough for live commentary and real-time monitoring. If your current dongle tops out at USB 2.0 speeds or caps at 1080p@30Hz, this unit adds 2K resolution and 60 FPS at 1080p while remaining backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports. It does not add an HDMI loop-out for a local monitor.

Check for HDMI source, USB 3.0 port and OS version

Your playback device must output an unencrypted HDMI signal at 4K@30Hz, 2K or 1080p. The host needs a free USB-A or USB-C port running USB 3.0 or newer, plus Windows 10/11, macOS, Linux or iPadOS 17 or later. Protected content such as commercial Blu-ray will not pass through.

Questions about this item

What HDMI and USB ports does the 15389 capture card provide for connection?

The card has one HDMI input and two USB outputs — a USB 3.0 Type-A and a USB-C — so you can plug it into either port type on your computer or tablet.

Which driver step is required before the first capture on Windows or macOS?

No driver installation is needed; the device is plug-and-play on Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 7, macOS, Linux and iPadOS 17 or later — just connect the HDMI source and the USB cable, then select the card in your streaming software.

Will the USB cable or HDMI port need periodic replacement with heavy daily streaming?

The unit draws power from the USB bus and has no moving parts or replaceable modules; under normal use the fixed cables and ports are rated for the life of the product.
