3M Command Sawtooth Picture Hangers

These 3M Command 17042 hooks provide damage-free hanging for sawtooth, D-ring and keyhole frames. No nails, screws or tacks are required, leaving walls free of holes. The adhesive strips bond securely to painted walls, finished wood, glass, tile and metal. Each hanger supports items up to five pounds.

Holds strongly on smooth indoor surfaces

The adhesive maintains its grip on painted walls, smooth ceilings, finished wood, glass, tile and metal under normal indoor conditions. Strips remove cleanly without surface damage when you want to reposition frames. A refill strip lets you rehang items again and again without buying new hardware.

Replaces nails, screws and tacks for light frames

Switch to these hangers when you want to avoid wall holes and repaint work on smooth indoor surfaces. They are not suited for heavy mirrors, outdoor mounting or rough-textured walls that exceed the five-pound limit.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does the Command 17042 hanger generate when holding a frame all day?

The hook is a passive piece of plastic and adhesive; it produces no heat, draws no power and makes no sound regardless of how long it remains on the wall.

What must I already have on hand for the 17042 sawtooth hangers to work?

You need a clean, smooth indoor surface such as painted drywall, finished wood, glass, tile or metal, plus the frame you want to hang.

Will the 17042 hangers damage the older plaster walls in my hallway?

They are designed for damage-free removal on smooth painted surfaces; on fragile or crumbling plaster the adhesive could pull loose material away when removed.
