A one-hole copper compression lug for 1 AWG stranded wire with a 5/16 in stud, green colour code, die code 11, CSA certified and UL listed
This 3M 30027 compression lug accepts a maximum of 1 AWG stranded copper wire. It is built from copper with a green colour code and die code 11. The barrel inside diameter is .35 in and the outside diameter is .46 in. The straight tongue measures .69 in wide.
The one-hole design suits panels and equipment that provide a single 5/16 in mounting point. The short barrel keeps the overall length compact for tight enclosures. It is not suited for multi-hole mounting patterns or for conductors larger than 1 AWG.
The lug meets UL Listed and CSA Certified standards for use up to 35 kV maximum voltage. It is RoHS compliant and uses a crimp termination style. The barrel dimensions and die code 11 determine the required tooling.

Strip the conductor to the lug's barrel length, insert fully into the 0.35 in inside-diameter barrel, then crimp with a die code 11 tool; the step often missed is verifying the crimp with a go/no-go gauge before energising the 35 kV-rated connection.
The copper lug itself is maintenance-free; inspect the crimp joint periodically for discolouration or loosening and replace the lug if the barrel shows corrosion, cracking or if the 0.46 in outside diameter has deformed.
The 35 kV insulation rating and the 0.35 in barrel inside diameter set the thermal limit; sustained current that raises the copper barrel temperature above its rated operating range will degrade the crimp before the lug body fails.
