Heavy-Duty Scouring Pad 12-Pack

The 3M 86 heavy-duty scouring pad comes in a pack of 12 for tackling baked-on food and cleaning food-processing equipment. It replaces scrapers, steel wool and metal sponges in small kitchen areas. Durable synthetic fibers are crimped and heat-set into a strong open web. Abrasive particles are evenly distributed throughout the green pad for consistent scrubbing performance.

Thermal Resistance and Daily Use

The resin system resists degradation from exposure to hot water, detergents and normal cleaning liquids. This allows the pad to maintain its structure during routine washing-up tasks. The open construction lets water and cleaning agents flow through freely. No recycled content is used in the synthetic fiber material.

Sustained Heavy-Duty Cleaning

Under continuous heavy-duty use the crimped fiber web holds together while abrasive particles keep cutting through stubborn residue. The even distribution of abrasives helps ensure consistent performance across the full 6 by 9 inch surface. Pads do not require assembly before use. The product is manufactured in the United States.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 3M 86 scouring pad, and what step do people get wrong?

No installation is needed — simply wet the pad and scrub; the common mistake is using it dry, which reduces the synthetic fibers' ability to lift baked-on food.

What maintenance or replacement will the 3M 86 scouring pad need later?

Each pad is disposable; replace it when the green abrasive surface wears smooth or the open web clogs beyond rinsing clean.

What limit shows up first on the 3M 86 scouring pad under sustained heavy-duty use?

The abrasive particles wear down faster than the synthetic fiber web breaks down, so scrubbing power drops before the pad falls apart.
