17in 16:10 Privacy Filter

The 3M Bright Screen Privacy Filter BP170W1B is a new accessory sized for 17 inch widescreen LCD 2 in 1 notebooks with a 16:10 aspect ratio. It limits the viewing angle so on-screen data is visible only to the person directly in front of the display. An anti-glare surface reduces reflections from overhead lighting.

Upgrade from basic film or no filter

This filter replaces adhesive films that can bubble or peel, and it improves on using no privacy layer at all. The jump is worth it when you regularly handle confidential documents in open-plan offices, on trains or in coffee shops where shoulder surfing is a real risk. It also helps when glare makes the screen hard to read in bright environments.

Magnetic or adhesive attachment

The filter attaches to the bezel using the supplied mounting options so it can be removed and reapplied without tools. Clean the screen thoroughly before the first fit; dust trapped underneath creates visible spots. Alignment must match the 16:10 active area exactly or the edges will cover part of the image.

Will the 16:10 filter cover the full 17 inch display on my 2 in 1 notebook?

Yes, the BP170W1B is sized for a 17 inch widescreen LCD with a 16:10 aspect ratio, matching your 2 in 1 notebook display.

Which attachment method does the BP170W1B use and what is the common mistake?
