Adhesive-lined polyolefin tubing shrinks 2:1 to seal and protect wires from 4/0 AWG to 500 MCM
This 3M EPS200 tubing provides a 2:1 shrink ratio with an inner adhesive layer that bonds and seals when heated. It fits wire sizes from 4/0 AWG up to 500 MCM, making it suitable for heavy-gauge automotive and industrial wiring. The flexible polyolefin construction resists abrasion, acids and alkalis while remaining flame retardant. Each piece is supplied in a 48-inch length for custom cutting.
The tubing operates continuously from -67 degrees F to 230 degrees F and begins shrinking at a minimum of 250 degrees F. After full recovery the inside diameter reduces from 1.0 inch to .5 inch with a nominal wall thickness of .05 inch. The adhesive lining flows during heating to create a moisture-resistant seal around the conductors. No external power draw or noise is generated during installation.
This product replaces standard heat-shrink that lacks an adhesive liner, adding environmental sealing and strain relief in a single step. The jump is worth it when connections must survive vibration, fluid exposure or temperature cycling without separate taping or potting. It is not for applications requiring a higher shrink ratio or a different inside-diameter range than the 1.0 inch to .5 inch transition.

Slide the 48 in tube over the splice, heat evenly to at least 250 °F until it shrinks to .5 in, and let the adhesive cool fully before moving the joint — skipping the cool-down breaks the seal.
The polyolefin wall stays at .05 in after shrinking and resists abrasion, acid and alkali, so no routine maintenance is required; replace only if physical damage cuts through the wall.
Continuous exposure above 230 °F exceeds the rated temperature range and will degrade the adhesive liner before the polyolefin itself fails.
