Thin-wall polyolefin tubing shrinks 2:1 to insulate 28-26 AWG wires, resisting flame, acids, alkalis and solvents from -67 to 275 °F
This pack contains ten black polyolefin tubes, each six inches long, with a 2:1 shrink ratio. The tubing fits 28 AWG to 26 AWG wire and shrinks from a 0.09 in inside diameter to 0.05 in. It is flame retardant, acid and alkali resistant, and solvent resistant. No adhesive lining is present.
As a passive component, the tubing produces no noise and draws no power during use. It operates continuously across a temperature range of -67 °F to 275 °F. Minimum shrink temperature is 212 °F. Dielectric strength is rated at 600 V for electrical insulation.
Under prolonged thermal exposure within its rated range, the material remains flexible and retains its flame-retardant, solvent-resistant properties. The thin wall measures 0.02 in after shrinking. It is not suited for wires larger than 26 AWG or applications requiring adhesive-lined sealing.

Slide the 6-inch tube over the 28 to 26 AWG wire, then apply heat until it shrinks from 0.09 in to 0.05 in ID; the step often missed is reaching the minimum 212 °F shrink temperature so the 2:1 ratio fully activates.
The polyolefin tubing is acid, alkali and solvent resistant with no adhesive liner, so it requires no routine maintenance; replace only if physical damage breaches the 0.02 in recovered wall or the 600 V dielectric rating is compromised.
Continuous exposure above the 275 °F upper temperature rating will degrade the material before the 600 V dielectric strength or 2:1 shrink performance becomes an issue.
