3M HC238W9B High Clarity Privacy Filter 23.8in 16:9 monitor accessory

23.8-inch 16:9 privacy filter for monitors

The 3M HC238W9B is a frameless privacy filter sized for 23.8-inch displays with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It uses advanced microlouver technology to narrow the viewing angle so on-screen content is visible only to the person sitting directly in front. The filter reduces blue light transmission by 35 percent and adds a layer of protection against dust and scratches. Touch compatibility is supported on some devices.

60-degree viewing angle and glossy finish limits

Effective "black out" privacy works only for side views outside the 60-degree viewing angle; anyone within that cone can still read the screen. The glossy finish on both sides preserves clarity but can increase visible reflections in brightly lit rooms. The filter is designed to fit inside a raised bezel, so displays with flush or very thin bezels may not accommodate it properly. Blue-light reduction is fixed at 35 percent and cannot be adjusted.

Frameless magnetic attachment and cleaning

The frameless design attaches magnetically or with supplied tabs, allowing quick removal for cleaning or collaborative work. Misalignment during fitting is the most common issue; if the filter sits unevenly, privacy performance drops at the edges. Dust trapped between the filter and screen can cause visible bubbles, so both surfaces must be cleaned before each application. The filter is hand inspected but should be checked for defects before permanent installation.
