18 AWG Butt Splice Connector

The 3M MH18BCK is a crimp-type butt splice designed for wire gauges from 22 AWG up to 18 AWG. It suits automotive, marine and general electrical repairs where a sealed, insulated joint is required. The pink heat-shrink insulation identifies the maximum wire size at a glance.

Crimp and heat installation

Strip each conductor, insert into the seamless copper barrel and crimp with a standard tool. Apply heat to shrink the tubing until adhesive flows, creating a moisture-resistant seal. A crimp that is too loose or uneven heat will leave gaps that compromise the connection.

1000 V rating and 221 °F limit

The connector handles up to 1 000 V and continuous temperatures of 221 °F, covering most low-voltage vehicle and industrial circuits. It is not suited for conductors larger than 18 AWG or environments exceeding the stated temperature ceiling.
