Fits 28-inch 16:9 displays

This privacy filter is sized for a 28-inch widescreen monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It attaches directly to the screen surface and is sold as a single unit. The accessory suits office workers and mobile professionals who need on-screen confidentiality in shared or public spaces.

Side-view blackout at 60 degrees

Content remains clearly visible when viewed straight on, while anyone outside a 60-degree viewing angle sees a darkened screen. The reversible design lets you choose between a glossy finish and a glare-reducing matte side that also helps hide fingerprints. This behaviour is consistent during extended daily use.

Lightweight frame adds minimal load

At 1.65 units the filter adds negligible weight to the monitor and requires no external power. The passive construction means there are no fans or moving parts to generate noise. Thermal output is effectively zero, so the accessory does not affect the display's operating temperature.

Questions about this item

Does the 3M PF280W9B generate any heat or noise when left on a monitor all day?

The filter is a passive screen layer with no electronics, so it produces zero heat and no audible noise during continuous use.

What must my monitor already have for this 28-inch 16:9 filter to fit and stay in place?

Your display needs a 28-inch viewable area with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a flat bezel wide enough for the included adhesive tabs or slide-mount brackets.

Will the 60-degree privacy angle still work if I keep using my older 28-inch 16:9 monitor with a thicker bezel?

Yes, the optical layer limits side visibility to 60 degrees regardless of bezel thickness, provided the filter covers the entire active screen area.
