38 inch 21:9 privacy filter

The 3M PF380W2B is a monitor accessory built for 38 inch ultrawide displays with a 21:9 aspect ratio. It uses microlouver technology to create a black out effect for viewers outside a 60 degree viewing angle. The filter is reversible between a glossy side and a matte side that reduces glare. It also reduces 35 percent of blue light transmission from the screen.

Sustained daily use behaviour

The matte surface helps hide fingerprints and reduces reflections during long sessions. Durable screen protection guards the display against scratches and daily wear. Touch compatibility is supported on some devices so interactive workflows continue without removal. The reversible design lets you switch finish based on ambient lighting conditions throughout the day.

Practical limits of the privacy standard

Privacy is effective only within the 60 degree straight on viewing cone; side views beyond that angle see a darkened screen. The filter fits curved displays matching the 38 inch diagonal and 21:9 ratio. Dimensions are 35.20 inches by 14.80 inches and weight is 2.5 units. Buyers with smaller screens or different aspect ratios cannot use this model.

Questions about this item

Does the 38 inch PF380W2B filter trap heat or change the monitor's power draw during all-day use?

The filter adds no active components, so it does not generate heat or alter the monitor's power consumption.

What mounting method does the PF380W2B require on my 38 inch 21:9 display?

It ships with adhesive attachment strips and slide-mount tabs that adhere directly to the bezel or glass.

Will the 60-degree privacy angle still work on my older curved 38 inch ultra-wide panel?

Yes, the microlouver layer is designed for curved surfaces and maintains the same 60-degree blackout on compatible radii.
