Retro-styled wireless mouse with charging dock

The 8Bitdo Retro R8 Gaming Mouse Grey N Edition is a wireless gaming mouse that includes a charging dock. It uses a PAW 3395 optical sensor and Kailh Sword GM X micro switches rated for 100 million clicks. The ambidextrous design suits left or right-handed users. It connects via three modes for broad compatibility.

26000 DPI sensor with adjustable polling

The PAW 3395 sensor reaches 26000 DPI across six adjustable levels. Polling rate can be tuned through Ultimate Software V2 up to a 4K report rate. The 2.4 GHz wireless link and dock extension aim to keep latency low. Wired operation is also available while charging.

Eight programmable buttons and software suite

Eight buttons can be remapped and macros assigned in Ultimate Software V2. The software also handles DPI steps, polling rate, and left/right-hand mode switching. Buyers who need onboard profile storage without software, or a lighter mouse under 0.24 kilograms, should consider other models.

Questions about this item

How do the three connection modes and the charging dock's signal extension affect daily use?

The mouse connects via 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth or wired USB; the dock acts as a receiver extension so the signal stays stable even if the PC is tucked away.

What does the PAW 3395 sensor's 26,000 DPI actually deliver in games?

It provides a very high sensitivity ceiling with low smoothing, so fast swipes track accurately; most players will lower DPI in software for comfortable control.

How do the Kailh Sword GM X switches rated for 100 million clicks feel over time?

They keep a crisp, consistent actuation force throughout their rated lifespan, reducing double-click issues and maintaining the same click feedback for years.
