DDR3 platforms cap memory bandwidth and maximum capacity per channel well below later generations, so total system memory ceilings are lower. Systems locked to slower DDR3 speeds will downclock this module automatically.

Installation notes

The 240-pin DIMM seats in a standard DDR3 registered DIMM slot; the key notch prevents backward insertion.
