DDR3 1066 practical limits

DDR3 1066 (PC3-8500) tops out at 1066 MT/s with a standard 1.5V supply, so bandwidth is capped at the PC3-8500 level. Registered signalling adds one clock cycle of latency, and the platform's memory controller determines the maximum usable capacity and populated slot count. Mixing speeds will force all modules to run at the lowest common rate.

Registered ECC requirement
