Power Supply for MFJ-1316

This 12 V AC adapter is built to run the MFJ-1316 and compatible MFJ heavy-duty devices. It accepts a worldwide 100-240 V input at 50-60 Hz so it works on mains power in most regions. The unit is a non-OEM replacement that carries CE, FCC and RoHS certification. It targets operators who need a direct plug-in mains supply for their existing radio equipment.

Protection Features and Package Contents

Over-voltage and over-heat protection are built into the circuitry to guard the connected device during extended use. The package supplies one new AC-DC adapter and nothing else; no extra cables, mounting hardware or software are included. Buyers who want a multi-voltage unit or a battery-backup function will not find those capabilities here.

Barrel Connector and Daily Handling

Output is delivered through a barrel tip, so the centre-pin diameter and polarity must match the MFJ-1316 socket before connection. The adapter is designed for indoor operation with adequate ventilation and should not be placed on heat-sensitive surfaces during long sessions. Installers who need a locking connector or a right-angle plug will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

Will the barrel tip on this 12 V adapter wear out and need replacing?

The barrel tip is a fixed part of the cable; if it becomes loose or damaged the whole adapter must be replaced.

What limits continuous operation of this 12 V supply first?

Over-heat protection will shut the unit down before sustained load causes damage.

How much heat or fan noise does this 12 V charger produce when left on all day?

It has no fan; passive cooling means silent running, though the case will become warm during extended use.
