  • 5 V 3.5 A output delivers 65 W to compatible HP laptops
  • 4 mm black big plug tip with centre pin matches specified HP part numbers
  • 100–240 V 50–60 Hz input works worldwide without a voltage converter
  • 5 m cable plus free cord gives flexible placement
  • Over-voltage and over-heat protection safeguards the notebook during charging

Compatible HP power adapter

This ABLEGRID AC DC adapter delivers 18.5V at 3.5A for a total of 65W. It accepts worldwide input from 100 to 240V at 50 to 60Hz. The unit ships with a 1.5 metre cable and a standard power cord included.

7.4 mm centre-pin tip requirement

This adapter suits owners of HP laptops that use the 7.4 mm black big plug tip with a centre pin. It will not fit devices that require the 4.5 mm blue small plug tip. Buyers who need a different connector size must choose another model.

7.4 mm black big plug tip with centre pin

The decisive specification is the output connector: an outer diameter of 7.4 mm with a centre pin inside. Verify this matches the original HP spare numbers 693711-001, AD9043-021G2 or 677774-004 before ordering.

Questions about this item

Will this 18.5V 3.5A adapter work with an older HP laptop that originally used the 693711-001 spare?

Yes, it replaces HP spare 693711-001 and part numbers 677774-004 and AD9043-021G2, provided the original charger also used the 7.4 mm black big plug tip with centre pin.

How can I confirm the adapter is delivering the correct 65 W output after I plug it in?

The laptop should show it is charging normally and the adapter brick should stay only warm, not hot, thanks to the built-in over-voltage and over-heat protection circuits.

What comes in the package and do I need to buy a separate mains lead?

The box contains one new AC DC adapter and one free cord, so no extra mains cable is required for the 100-240 V input.
