Purpose and compatibility

This AC DC adapter replaces the original charger for Lenovo ThinkPad models that require a 20 V DC supply. It suits owners of ultrabooks and thin laptops who need a spare or replacement power brick for home, office or travel use.

Thermals noise and power draw

The unit accepts a worldwide AC input of 100‑240 V at 50‑60 Hz and delivers DC output with built‑in over‑voltage and over‑heat protection. In normal operation it runs silently and stays cool thanks to the integrated safety circuitry.

Behaviour under sustained load

During extended charging sessions the adapter maintains stable voltage while the protection features prevent overheating. The 1.5 m cable provides flexible placement, and the included free cord adds convenience for continuous daily use.

Questions about this item

How do I install the ABLEGRID adapter and what step do people often get wrong?

Plug the AC cord into a 100-240V wall outlet then connect the DC tip to the ThinkPad; the step users miss is verifying the tip size matches the laptop before powering on.

What maintenance or replacement will this charger need later?

Keep the unit ventilated during long sessions and avoid placing it on soft surfaces; replace the adapter if the cord frays or the brick becomes excessively hot.

What limit appears first under sustained use?

Over-heat protection will trigger before over-voltage protection during prolonged high-load operation, causing the adapter to shut down until it cools.
