ABLEGRID USB Cable for Square Reader

This cable connects Square contactless and chip readers to a USB power source for charging. It suits merchants who need a replacement or spare lead for their payment terminal. The five-foot length gives flexibility when positioning the reader on a counter or mobile stand. It is a generic compatible accessory, not an original Square part.

Plug-in installation with alignment care

The connector fits the Square reader port directly, so no tools are required. The main issue is inserting the plug upside-down or forcing it when the orientation is wrong, which can bend the pins. Check the connector shape against the reader port before applying pressure. A gentle, straight push seats it correctly.

USB power limits and cable reach

The lead relies on the host USB port or charger to supply the correct voltage and current for the reader. It cannot boost power beyond what the source provides. The fixed five-foot length limits placement to within that radius of the power outlet or hub. Buyers who need a longer run or a different connector type cannot use this cable.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the cable is charging my Square contactless and chip reader correctly?

Connect the cable to the reader and a USB power source; the reader's indicator light should show it is receiving power and the battery icon will display a charging state.

What comes in the package and do I need to buy a power adapter separately?

The box contains one 5 ft AC power cable cord; a USB wall charger or powered port is not included and must be supplied by you.

Which cable length should I choose for my counter setup?

This listing provides a single 5 ft length; choose it if that reach fits the distance between your reader and the nearest USB power outlet.
