Durable Single Switch for Accessible Learning

The Ablenet Buddy Button provides a large 2.5 inch activation surface that responds to a light touch of 3.5 ounces. It delivers both auditory and tactile feedback so the user knows the press has been registered. This wired switch suits classroom, therapy or home settings where reliable single-input control is needed. It is not for users who need multiple programmable inputs or wireless connectivity.

Low-Power Wired Operation

The device draws negligible power from the host system through its 3.5 mm connection, so it adds no measurable heat or fan noise to the setup. There are no internal batteries to charge or replace, eliminating ongoing maintenance. The simple electromechanical design runs silently during normal use. It is not for installations that require battery-backed portable operation.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the Buddy Button 57100 to my device, and what is the common mistake?

Plug the 3.5 mm mono cable into the switch-adapted device's input jack; the step often missed is ensuring the plug is fully seated so the 3.5-ounce activation force registers reliably.

What part of the Buddy Button 57100 will wear out first and need replacement?

The internal microswitch under the 2.5-inch surface is the only moving component; after extended use its spring can fatigue, requiring switch replacement to restore crisp tactile and auditory feedback.
