Refurbished ABS gaming desktop

This refurbished ABS Stratos Aqua system pairs an Intel Core i7-14700F 20-core processor with an MSI RTX 4070 Super Ventus graphics card. It ships with 32 GB of TeamGroup Delta RGB DDR5 6000 memory and a 1 TB Kingston NVMe SSD. Windows 11 Home 64-bit comes pre-installed on the MSI B760-VC DDR5 Wifi motherboard.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

The 20-core CPU and 12 GB GDDR6X GPU deliver strong frame rates at 1440p and handle content creation tasks such as video editing or 3D rendering. Buyers who need more than 12 GB VRAM for heavy professional 3D workloads or who want a larger primary drive installed should consider a different configuration. The 750 W 80+ Gold power supply and Thermaltake UX200 cooler support the included components without extra headroom for major upgrades.

Deciding specification: 12 GB GDDR6X on the RTX

The graphics card provides 12 GB of GDDR6X memory, which determines the texture and model complexity the system can hold in VRAM. If your workflow or target games regularly exceed that buffer, you will hit swapping and lose performance. For typical 1440p gaming and moderate creative work the 12 GB capacity is sufficient.

Questions about this item

What PCIe generation does the RTX 4070 Super Ventus use on the MSI B760 motherboard, and what bandwidth ceiling does that set?

The graphics card runs on a PCIe 4.0 x16 link provided by the B760 chipset, capping theoretical bandwidth at 32 GT/s per lane for the 12 GB GDDR6X frame buffer.

What case clearance and power connectors does the MSI RTX 4070 Super Ventus require inside the ABS Stratos Pearl Snow chassis?

The dual-slot Ventus fits the Stratos Pearl Snow interior; the Compucase 750W 80+ Gold PSU supplies the necessary 12VHPWR connector for the 12 GB GDDR6X GPU.

Which storage slot should I populate first when adding a second M.2 NVMe drive to the MSI B760-VC motherboard?

Install the additional M.2 NVMe SSD in the secondary slot wired to the chipset so the primary CPU-attached slot keeps the Kingston 1TB boot drive at full PCIe 4.0 x4 speed.
