Ultra-quiet USB cooling fan

The AC Infinity MULTIFAN S3 is a 120 mm USB-powered fan built to cool receivers, game consoles, media cabinets and similar electronics. It can stand upright or lie flat and includes an in-line multi-speed controller with a power switch for adjustable airflow. Eight anti-vibration rubber feet and a 6-foot cord simplify placement behind AV gear.

18 dBA noise level with multi-speed control

The single specification that decides suitability is the 18 dBA acoustic rating combined with the multi-speed controller. At low speeds the fan is nearly silent for bedroom or living-room use, while higher settings raise airflow to 52 CFM when components run hotter. Dual-ball bearings rated for 67 000 hours allow any orientation without wear penalties.

Daisy-chain up to four units from one USB port

Each fan draws power from a standard USB port and provides a pass-through port so up to four units can share one source. This covers multi-device cabinets, stacked consoles or extended AV racks without extra wall adapters. The 52 CFM maximum airflow handles typical receiver and console thermal loads, but dense server gear or overclocked enclosures will exceed its capacity.

Questions about this item

What does the 52 CFM airflow figure mean when the fan is running inside a closed cabinet?

At full speed the fan moves 52 cubic feet of air per minute, which is enough to push warm air out of a typical AV cabinet or console enclosure and lower internal temperatures.

How does the USB power connection limit the fan's performance?

The fan plugs into any USB port and draws its power from that port, so the maximum speed is determined by the port's available current.

What physical space and mounting options does the 4.7-inch square frame need?

The unit measures 4.7 by 4.7 by 1 inch and includes eight rubber feet; it can stand upright or lie flat on any level surface.
