Five-Bay SATA Enclosure with RAID

The Acasis EC-7355 is a five-bay external enclosure that accepts 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA hard drives or SSDs. It connects via a 5 Gbps USB link and provides eight hardware RAID modes selectable by a rotary dial. A 96 W power supply and a built-in high-speed fan keep the drives stable under load.

Suits Multi-Drive Archives Not Single-Drive

This unit suits users who want to combine up to five SATA drives into a single RAID volume for backup, media libraries or surveillance footage. It is not suited for anyone needing a bus-powered portable enclosure, a single-drive dock or a device that operates without an external power brick.

Eight Hardware RAID Modes Selected by Rotary Dial

The defining specification is the eight RAID array modes configured through a physical rotary dial rather than DIP switches. This hardware implementation handles striping, mirroring and parity without host software, so the chosen mode travels with the enclosure across Windows, macOS and Linux systems.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 18 TB or 24 TB single-disk limit for my drives?

The enclosure accepts individual SATA drives up to 24 TB each, giving you the highest per-bay capacity.

What does the 5 Gbps transfer rate mean when I copy files to this enclosure?

It is the peak SATA 6 Gbps link speed; real-world sustained throughput will be limited by the installed drives and RAID overhead.

Does the SATA interface cap performance compared to faster standards?

Yes, SATA tops out at 6 Gbps, so the enclosure cannot exceed that ceiling regardless of drive speed.
