Retro X3 Mini PC for multitasking and creation

The ACEMAGIC Retro X3 is a new mini PC barebone built around an AMD Ryzen 7 H255 processor with 8 cores and 16 threads reaching 4.9 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of onboard LPDDR5 memory at 6400 MT/s and a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed in a gray ABS+PC chassis.

Limits of integrated graphics and soldered memory

The AMD Radeon 780M integrated graphics with 12 compute units at 2600 MHz drives up to three displays at 8K 60 Hz or 4K 120 Hz via HDMI 2.1, DP 2.0 and USB4. System memory cannot be upgraded because it is soldered to the board. Storage expansion relies on two M.2 PCIe 4.0 slots supporting up to 4 TB total.

Copper cooling and 40 Gbps USB4 with power delivery

A dual copper-tube, dual fin-module cooler with a silent centrifugal fan handles the 54 W power envelope. Connectivity includes 2.5 Gbps Ethernet, WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. The USB4 port delivers 40 Gbps data and 100 W power delivery in and out, while HDMI 2.1 and DP 2.0 complete the video outputs.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 16 GB LPDDR5 6400MT/s configuration or add another stick later?

The 16 GB LPDDR5 6400MT/s memory is soldered on board and cannot be upgraded, so the only capacity choice is the one shipped with the unit.

What does the 4.9 GHz boost clock actually deliver in daily workloads?

The 8-core 16-thread Ryzen 7 H255 hits 4.9 GHz on short bursts, giving snappy response in office apps, light video editing and 1080p gaming while the 54 W power limit keeps thermals steady.

How fast is the USB4 port and what can it drive?

The USB4 port runs at 40 Gbps with 100 W Power Delivery in and out, so it can drive an 8K@60 Hz display, fast external storage and charge the mini PC simultaneously.
