Compact Chromebook for daily web tasks

The Acer C720-2848 is an 11.6-inch Chromebook powered by an Intel Celeron 2955U dual-core processor at 1.40 GHz with 2GB of RAM and a 16GB SSD. It runs Chrome OS on a 1366 x 768 non-touch display and offers up to 8.5 hours of battery life. This lightweight unit suits students or casual users who mainly browse, stream and work in web apps. Buyers needing local storage for large media libraries or offline creative suites should look elsewhere.

Step up from slower netbooks or aging laptops

Replacing an older single-core netbook or a sluggish traditional laptop with this model brings a noticeable jump in boot speed and web responsiveness thanks to the Haswell-based Celeron and SSD storage. The upgrade is worth it when the primary workload lives in the browser and the 16GB drive can hold the few local files required. Machines already running modern Chrome OS on 4GB or more RAM will not see a meaningful difference.

Simple setup with limited hardware flexibility

The device arrives ready to use — sign in with a Google account and the system updates itself automatically. There are no user-accessible memory slots or drive bays, so the 2GB RAM and 16GB SSD cannot be upgraded later. The main friction point is the fixed storage capacity; users who accumulate many Android apps or offline files will hit the ceiling quickly. Plan cloud-first workflows from the start.
