Convertible Chromebook for daily work

The Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514 is a 14.0-inch 2-in-1 laptop running Chrome OS. It uses an Intel Core i5-1334U processor with 10 cores and 12 threads, reaching up to 4.6GHz. The system includes 8GB of onboard LPDDR5X memory and a 512GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. A 1920 x 1200 IPS touchscreen provides stylus and finger input.

Suited for cloud-focused users.

This device suits people who work primarily in a browser and Android apps, with Wi-Fi 6E for fast wireless access. The FHD webcam with privacy shutter and AI noise-cancelling microphones support video calls. Buyers who need large local storage, upgradeable memory, or Windows-specific applications should look at other form factors.

Soldered memory fixes capacity at 8GB

The 8GB LPDDR5X is soldered to the board with zero available slots, so the amount of RAM cannot be increased after purchase. This single constraint decides whether the machine can handle your typical tab count and Android workloads. The 512GB SSD uses an M.2 2242 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot for storage.

Questions about this item

Which charger do I already need to own to power this Spin 514 via its USB-C ports?

You need a USB-C adapter that can deliver up to 65 W over USB Power Delivery; the 14.0" Chromebook Plus Spin 514 charges through either of its two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports.

Will my older USB-A flash drive and HDMI monitor work with the Spin 514's single Type-A and HDMI 1.4 ports?

Yes — the 14.0" model provides one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port for legacy drives and one HDMI 1.4 port with HDCP support for external displays.

How can I confirm the 1080p webcam and Wi-Fi 6E radio are functioning after first boot?

Open the Camera app to verify 1080p video at 60 FPS with the privacy shutter open, then connect to a 6 GHz network to confirm Wi-Fi 6E operation.
