Acer Chromebox CXM1-C864G

The Acer Chromebox CXM1-C864G is a compact mini PC designed for enterprise environments. It runs ChromeOS on an Intel Celeron N4500 processor with a 2.80 GHz turbo frequency. The unit includes 8 GB of LPDDR4X memory and 32 GB of eMMC storage. Its 4.7-inch depth allows it to fit into tight workspaces.

Suits cloud-first workers, not local-heavy users

This device suits workers who rely on browser-based apps and cloud storage. The 32 GB internal drive limits local file storage and application installs. Buyers who need large local databases, media libraries, or Windows-specific software should look at other platforms. The fanless design also restricts sustained heavy workloads.

32 GB eMMC storage decides fit

The single specification that decides suitability is the 32 GB eMMC storage capacity. This amount supports the operating system and a modest cache for offline work. It cannot hold large project files, media collections, or multiple virtual machines. Buyers must plan for cloud or external storage from day one.

Questions about this item

What does the 2.80 GHz turbo speed on the Celeron N4500 mean for everyday ChromeOS tasks?

The dual-core Celeron N4500 can burst to 2.80 GHz for short periods, keeping web apps, video calls and document editing responsive while staying within the 65 W power envelope.

What does Wi-Fi 6E actually add over plain Wi-Fi 6 on this Chromebox?

Wi-Fi 6E extends Wi-Fi 6 into the 6 GHz band, providing additional non-overlapping channels so the CXM1-C864G sees less interference in dense office Wi-Fi environments.

How much desk space does the 4.7-inch deep chassis need for mounting?

The unit measures 4.7 inches deep, so it fits behind a monitor or on a VESA bracket with only a slim clearance behind the display.
