Predator Triton 500 gaming laptop

The Acer Predator Triton 500 is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Core i7-10750H processor and a GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER Max-Q graphics card. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD. The 300 Hz IPS panel covers 100% sRGB and supports NVIDIA G-SYNC. Windows 10 Home 64-bit is pre-installed.

Three-Fan Cooling with AeroBlade 3D Fan

A three-fan cooling system uses one 4th Gen AeroBlade 3D fan together with five copper heat pipes and Vortex Flow to move heat away from the CPU and GPU. The design targets sustained performance during extended gaming sessions while keeping acoustic output in check. Power draw scales with the 6-core Comet Lake processor and the Max-Q tuned RTX 2080 SUPER.

Thunderbolt 3 and mini-DisplayPort 1.4 connectivity

One Thunderbolt 3 port, one mini-DisplayPort 1.4 and one HDMI 2.0 output let you drive external displays without adapters. Three USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports handle peripherals, and one of them supports power-off charging. The slim 0.70-inch profile and 4.63 lb weight leave room in a bag for accessories and power supply.

Questions about this item

How do I upgrade the 32 GB DDR4 memory and what step do people often miss?

The 32 GB DDR4 memory is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded, so the step people miss is checking this before buying extra modules.

What maintenance will the three-fan cooling system with 5 copper heat pipes need later?

Clean dust from the three fan intakes and exhaust vents every few months to keep the Vortex Flow cooling effective.

At what point does the 300 Hz 3 ms display limit sustained gaming performance?

The 300 Hz panel refreshes every 3 ms, so frame rates above 300 FPS will not appear smoother on this screen.
