Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 714

The Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 714 is a 2-in-1 convertible notebook built around a 14.0-inch WUXGA IPS touchscreen. It runs Chrome OS on an Intel Core Ultra 7 155U processor with 16GB of DDR5 memory and a 256GB SSD. The aluminium chassis meets MIL-STD 810H durability standards for daily transport. This device suits mobile professionals and students who need a lightweight, versatile machine with pen support.

Setup and common issues

Chrome OS boots in under 10 seconds and requires only a Google account to reach the desktop. The integrated Active Stylus stores and charges in a dedicated garage, removing the need for separate cables. Connectivity uses Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 for modern peripherals. Buyers who need legacy USB-A ports will find only one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A socket alongside two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports.

Sustained workload behaviour

The 50 Wh battery delivers up to 10 hours of mixed productivity use on a single charge. The fanless ultra-low-power Core Ultra 7 155U maintains its 4.80 GHz turbo for short bursts but settles to lower clocks during prolonged compile or render tasks. Surface temperatures stay comfortable during typical office workflows. Users who require continuous heavy GPU compute or discrete graphics performance should consider a different form factor.
