Chromebook Plus 514 for daily work

The Acer Chromebook Plus 514 is a 14-inch clamshell laptop running ChromeOS. It ships with an Intel Core 7 150U processor, 16 GB of memory and a 256 GB PCI Express NVMe 4.0 SSD. The matte IPS display shows 1920 x 1200 resolution at 60 Hz. It suits students and professionals who need a lightweight, cloud-first machine for browsing, document editing and video calls.

Sustained performance on ChromeOS

The integrated Intel graphics and 150U chip handle typical web workloads and Android apps without throttle during long sessions. Passive thermal management keeps the chassis quiet while the 17-hour battery rating supports a full day away from a charger. Wi-Fi 7 provides fast, stable connectivity for cloud sync and streaming. Heavy local compilation or 3D rendering will exceed the integrated GPU capability.

256 GB NVMe 4.0 SSD decides fit

The single drive offers 256 GB of NVMe 4.0 storage, which is the specification that determines whether this unit meets your local-file needs. Users who keep large media libraries or offline development environments will find the capacity limiting. There is no second drive slot mentioned, so expansion relies on external drives or cloud storage. Buyers needing more onboard space should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the Intel Core 7 150U run hot or loud during an all-day workload?

The 150U is a low-power design with integrated graphics, so the 14-inch chassis stays cool and quiet through a typical 17-hour battery cycle.

Which peripherals must I already own to use the HDMI port and Wi-Fi 7?

You need an external display with an HDMI input and a Wi-Fi 7 router to use those interfaces at their rated capability.
