Product identity

The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 is an 11.6-inch convertible notebook built around an eight-core MediaTek MT8 processor and 4 GB of LPDDR5X memory. It runs ChromeOS on a 64 GB eMMC drive and includes a touch-enabled IPS panel with 250 nit brightness.

Setup checklist

Verify that your workflow fits ChromeOS and web-centric apps, because the system does not run Windows or macOS software. Confirm that 64 GB of internal storage and 4 GB of soldered memory are sufficient, as neither can be upgraded after purchase.

Best fit and limits

Suits students or light-duty users who need a compact touchscreen device for browsing, streaming and cloud documents with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. Not suited for buyers who want more storage, higher RAM capacity, a larger display or the ability to install traditional desktop applications.

Questions about this item

Does the 11.6" Chromebook Spin 311 include a stylus or must I buy one separately?

The box contains the Chromebook with its 4 GB LPDDR5X memory and 64 GB eMMC storage already installed; no stylus is included, so you would need to purchase a compatible USI pen separately if you want pen input.

Should I choose the MediaTek MT8 octa-core model with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB eMMC or look for a higher-capacity version?

This specific model ships with 4 GB of on-board LPDDR5X at 8533 MHz and a 64 GB eMMC drive; the memory cannot be upgraded, so if you need more than 64 GB of local storage you would have to rely on cloud drives or external USB storage.

What does the 2.60 GHz turbo frequency on the 8-core MediaTek MT8 mean for everyday ChromeOS use?

The eight cores can burst to 2.60 GHz for short tasks like opening tabs or launching Android apps, while the Mali-G57 MC2 graphics and Wi-Fi 7 keep browsing and video playback smooth on the 1366 x 768 IPS touchscreen.
