Acer Nitro 16S AMD Ryzen AI 7 350

The Acer Nitro 16S is a 16-inch gaming laptop built around an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 8-core processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 GPU with 8GB GDDR7 memory. It ships with 64GB DDR5 4800 RAM and a 1TB PCIe SSD running Windows 11 Pro. The 16.0" WUXGA display runs at 1920 x 1200 resolution and a 180Hz refresh rate for fast-paced gaming.

Installation and common issues

The unit arrives with the factory seal opened by engineers for memory and storage upgrades, so the 64GB DDR5 and 1TB PCIe SSD are already installed and tested. No user assembly is required beyond initial Windows setup. The most common issues are driver updates for the RTX 5060 and Wi-Fi 6E, plus occasional BIOS updates for Ryzen AI processors; run Windows Update and the vendor support app before heavy use.

Interface limits and practical constraints

The Thunderbolt 4 port delivers up to 40Gbps and supports DisplayPort, power delivery and G-SYNC for external monitors. HDMI 2.1 FRL handles high-refresh external displays. Three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and one Type-C port each top out at 10Gbps. The RJ45 LAN port provides wired networking alongside Wi-Fi 6E. The 3.5mm combo jack covers audio in and out.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the 180Hz WUXGA display and RTX 5060 8GB GDDR7 are running at full speed after setup?

Open Windows Display settings and set the refresh rate to 180Hz, then launch the NVIDIA control panel and verify the GPU shows RTX 5060 with 8GB GDDR7 memory.

What ships in the box and what must I buy separately for the Nitro 16S with 64GB DDR5 and 1TB PCIe SSD?

The laptop, power adapter and documentation are included; the 64GB DDR5 4800 memory and 1TB PCIe SSD are already installed, so no extra RAM or storage purchase is required.

Which configuration should I choose if I need Thunderbolt 4 at 40Gbps and an 8-core Ryzen AI 7 350 processor?

This single SKU already provides the 8-core Ryzen AI 7 350 CPU and a Thunderbolt 4 port rated at 40Gbps, so no alternative version selection is needed.
