16-inch WUXGA 180Hz gaming laptop

The Acer Nitro 16S is a 16-inch gaming laptop built around an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 8-core processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 GPU with 8GB GDDR7 memory. It ships with 64GB DDR5 4800 system memory and a 1TB PCIe SSD. Windows 11 Home comes pre-installed. The 16.0-inch non-touch display delivers a 1920 x 1200 resolution at a 180Hz refresh rate.

RTX 5060 8GB GDDR7 graphics

The single specification that decides fit is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU with 8GB of GDDR7 video memory. This discrete graphics card drives the 180Hz panel and handles modern titles at the native 1920 x 1200 resolution. The GPU connects through a Thunderbolt 4 port that supports DisplayPort, power delivery and G-SYNC at up to 40Gbps data speed.

Vapor-chamber cooling under load

Under sustained load the laptop relies on its vapor-chamber thermal solution to keep the 8-core Ryzen AI 7 350 and the RTX 5060 within operating limits. The 0.83-inch chassis height and 4.8-pound weight constrain total airflow, so clock speeds settle below the 5GHz turbo frequency during extended sessions. Fan noise rises noticeably but remains consistent once the thermal mass saturates.
