Predator Helios 18 AI PH18-73-962W

The Acer Predator Helios 18 AI PH18-73-962W is an 18-inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU with 24GB GDDR7 memory. It ships with 128GB of DDR5 SO-DIMM RAM and a 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD. The 18.0-inch Mini LED display runs at 3840x2400 resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Mini LED 4K 120Hz display limits

The 18.0-inch Mini LED panel delivers 3840x2400 resolution at 120Hz, which caps the maximum frame rate the screen can show regardless of GPU output. Driving that pixel count at high detail settings demands the full bandwidth of the RTX 5090 and the system memory. Thunderbolt 4 ports provide external display expansion up to the controller limits. The 99 WHr battery capacity constrains unplugged runtime under heavy load.

Upgrade from lower-tier mobile GPUs

Moving to this configuration replaces laptops equipped with lesser mobile GPUs and lower memory capacities. The jump is worth it when workloads require 24GB of GDDR7 VRAM, 128GB of system DDR5, and a 24-core processor sustaining 5.4GHz turbo frequencies. The 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD removes the need for immediate storage expansion. Professional upgrades were performed by the integrator before shipment.
