Campaign Scope

Call of Duty: Vanguard is a first-person shooter set across multiple World War II theatres. The single-player campaign follows an international special-operations group as they confront a global threat. Players experience aerial combat over the Pacific, airborne drops into France, sniper engagements at Stalingrad and ground assaults in North Africa. The title is rated M for mature audiences due to intense violence, strong language and drug references.

Platform Limits

The game runs on Xbox Series X and Series S consoles. Online multiplayer and the post-launch Warzone integration require an active internet connection and an Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass Core subscription. Cross-generation play is subject to platform-holder policies and may not include all modes. Physical media must remain in the drive for licence verification on disc-based consoles.

Installation Notes

Insert the disc and follow the on-screen prompts to begin installation. A mandatory day-one update downloads before first launch, so allow extra time and bandwidth. Ensure the console has sufficient free storage for the base game plus future patches. The most common issue is a stalled download caused by network congestion or a full internal drive.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the Xbox Series X version or the Series S version of Call of Duty: Vanguard?

Both consoles run the same game code; the Series X renders at higher resolution and frame-rate while the Series S targets a lower resolution at similar frame pacing.

What does the M rating mean for the campaign experience?

The ESRB M rating flags blood and gore, intense violence, strong language, suggestive themes and drug references throughout the single-player story.

Does the disc work on both Xbox Series X and Series S consoles?

The physical disc installs on Series X; Series S has no disc drive so this edition cannot be used on that console.
