Questions about this item
How do I plug the 16-pin Type A connector into the rear-view mirror wiring without damaging the clips?
Use the two included pry tools to gently release the mirror harness, align the keyed 16-pin Type A plug, and press straight in until the latch clicks; forcing it at an angle bends the internal pins.
Which of the supplied cables or adapters will wear out first and need replacing?
The USB-C to USB-C lead carries the full 20 W PD/PPS current, so its connector and internal wires see the most thermal stress and typically fail before the lower-power Micro, Mini or RJ45 cables.
At what output level does the adapter hit its thermal or current limit during a long drive?
Continuous 12 V 1.67 A (20 W) output is the maximum rated load; sustained operation at that level will trigger the built-in protection before any lower voltage mode does.
