Single-cable power and data for 2.5 Gbps networks
This adapter splits a PoE+ feed into a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet pass-through port and a USB-C port that delivers up to 20 W of power. It is built for devices such as the Echo Hub, iPad or other tablets that need both wired connectivity and charging from one Cat5e or Cat6 run. The unit requires a PoE switch or injector compliant with IEEE 802.3 at or 802.3 bt to operate.
Replaces separate injectors
If a site already runs 802.3 at PoE+ infrastructure, this splitter removes the need for a local AC outlet and a dedicated USB power supply. The jump is worthwhile when the powered device draws no more than 20 W and the network link can use 2.5 Gbps speeds. On an 802.3 af switch the available budget drops to 15 W, so the connected load must stay below 13 W to avoid overload protection.
Sustained 2.5 Gbps throughput
Under continuous load the Ethernet ports maintain 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps data rates while the USB-C output holds 5 V 3 A, 9 V 2.22 A or 12 V 1.67 A profiles. The splitter draws its own operating power from the PoE+ input, so total consumption at the switch port includes both the attached device and the adapter itself. It is not suited for endpoints that need more than 20 W or for networks limited to 802.3 af power budgets.

Questions about this item
Does this splitter fit a standard RJ45 Cat5e or Cat6 cable for both the PoE input and the network output?
Yes, both the PoE IN and Network OUT ports are RJ45 and support 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps over Cat5e or Cat6 cabling.
What is the step people miss when hooking up the USB-C PD port for 20 W charging?
The splitter must be powered from an 802.3at or 802.3bt PoE+ source; an 802.3af switch only provides 15 W and will trip its overload protection if the attached device draws more than 13 W.
Will the USB-C PD output need a different charger or cable later if I upgrade to a device that draws more than 20 W?
The splitter’s USB-C port is limited to 20 W (5 V 3 A, 9 V 2.22 A, 12 V 1.67 A), so any device requiring more power will need its own supply.
