Workstation for compute-heavy workloads

This desktop workstation centres on a 64-core AMD Threadripper 9980X processor with 128 threads and a 5.4 GHz boost clock. It is built for professionals who run simulations, render farms or large-scale data analysis that benefit from high core counts and ECC memory integrity.

Liquid-cooled tower with extensive I/O

A 360 mm liquid cooler handles CPU thermals inside a Corsair 5000D tempered-glass chassis. The Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D motherboard supplies rear USB4 Type-C, multiple USB 3.2 Gen 2 and Gen 1 ports, dual 10 GbE LAN, eight SATA connectors and four M.2 slots for future expansion.

512 GB DDR5 ECC decides capacity fit

The system ships with 512 GB of DDR5 ECC memory, the single specification that determines whether the platform can hold your working dataset. Buyers who need more than 512 GB of addressable RAM must look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

What PCIe generation does the 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSD use, and what sequential speeds does that cap it at?

The drive runs on PCIe 4.0 x4, so sequential reads top out at 7450 MB/s and writes at 6900 MB/s.

What motherboard form-factor and case clearances are required for the 360 mm liquid cooler and Corsair 5000D frame?

The Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D is an E-ATX board; the case accepts a 360 mm radiator up front and measures 520 mm deep, 245 mm wide, 520 mm high.

Does Windows 11 Pro install automatically on the 4 TB NVMe drive, or do I need to select the boot drive in BIOS first?

Windows 11 Pro 64-bit ships pre-installed on the 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO; the BIOS boot order is already set to that drive.
