Threadripper 9960X Workstation

This business desktop centres on a 24-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9960X processor paired with 256GB of DDR5 ECC memory. A 360mm liquid cooler and 1200W power supply support sustained workloads in a tower chassis running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit.

Suited for multi-threaded compute

The 48 threads and 128MB L3 cache suit rendering, simulation and large dataset analysis. Buyers who need more GPU memory or additional accelerator cards should look at configurations with larger professional graphics options.

4TB NVMe and 10TB HDD headroom

The Samsung 990 PRO delivers up to 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write for active project files. The 10TB SATA drive provides bulk capacity for archives, while 32GB of RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell memory handles complex scenes before system RAM becomes the bottleneck.

Questions about this item

Does the motherboard's sTR5 socket require a specific cooler mounting kit for the included 360mm liquid cooler?

The 360mm Quiet Edition liquid cooler is pre-installed and matched to the sTR5 socket on the GIGABYTE TRX50 AERO D motherboard.

Can I keep my existing SATA 6Gb/s hard drives and connect them to the four M.2 slots on the TRX50 AERO D?

The four M.2 connectors are for NVMe SSDs; your SATA drives use the eight SATA 6Gb/s ports or the internal 3.5-inch bays.

How do I verify the 256GB DDR5 ECC memory is running with error correction active after first boot?

Open Windows System Information or the motherboard BIOS and confirm ECC status shows enabled for the 256GB DDR5 capacity.
