Adamant Custom Core Ultra 7 265K Workstation

This desktop combines a 20-core Intel Core Ultra 7 265K processor with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card. It ships with 64GB of DDR5 memory and a dual-drive layout of 8TB NVMe solid-state storage plus a 10TB mechanical hard drive. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and the chassis uses a 240mm liquid cooler. The system targets creators and engineers who need local AI compute and rendering headroom.

Upgrade Path From Prior Builds

The Z890 motherboard supports up to 192GB of DDR5 across four slots, so memory can triple without a platform change. Two M.2 slots are already occupied by 4TB Samsung 990 PRO drives, leaving two additional M.2 connectors and four SATA ports for further expansion. Builders who need more than 16GB of video memory or more than 20 CPU cores will need a different platform, as this socket and GPU are fixed.

Interface And Platform Limits

The board provides one Thunderbolt 4 Type-C port, one USB 20Gbps Type-C, three USB 10Gbps and three USB 5Gbps ports on the rear I/O panel. Internal connectivity includes a mid-board USB 20Gbps Type-C header and Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth5.4. The 1000W 80 PLUS Gold power supply sets the ceiling for any future GPU upgrade, and the mid-tower case fits components up to its 475mm depth.

Questions about this item

What motherboard form factor and CPU socket does the Ceres 300 case need to accept for this build?

The case fits an ATX motherboard with an LGA 1851 socket for the Core Ultra 7 265K processor.

Which step is often missed when installing the 240 mm liquid cooler on the Core Ultra 7 265K?

Builders sometimes forget to remove the protective film from the cold-plate before mounting it on the CPU heat-spreader.

When will the 10 TB hard drive likely need replacement under heavy write workloads?

A 10 TB mechanical drive with 256 MB cache typically reaches its rated workload limit after several years of continuous heavy writes.
