System purpose

This desktop pairs a 24-core Intel Core i9-14900K with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 12GB graphics card, 32GB DDR5 memory and a 2TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drive. It targets creators and gamers who need high single-thread speed, multi-thread throughput and fast storage in a single Windows 11 Pro workstation. Buyers who want more storage bays or a second graphics card should look elsewhere.

Thermals and power

A 360mm quiet-edition liquid cooler handles the CPU while the Cooler Master HAF 500 case supplies two 200mm front ARGB fans, a 120mm rear ARGB fan and a dedicated 120mm GPU fan. The Thermaltake Smart 850W 80 PLUS Bronze unit uses a 140mm low-noise fan and Japanese main capacitors with over-voltage, under-voltage, over-power and short-circuit protection.

Bundled value

The Gigabyte Z790 AORUS motherboard adds Wi-Fi 6, BLUETOOTH 5.2, Intel 2.5Gb Ethernet, four M.2 slots, six SATA 6Gb/s ports with RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 support and extensive front and rear USB 3.2 Gen 1, Gen 2 and Type-C connectivity. Realtek 7.1 surround audio completes the platform.

Questions about this item

How is the 360 mm liquid cooler mounted to the LGA 1700 socket, and which step is often missed?

The cooler uses the Intel LGA 1700 mounting bracket; the step people skip is removing the protective film from the cold-plate before tightening the thumbscrews.

What component will need replacement first, and when?

The 140 mm PSU fan is the only moving part rated for continuous duty; expect to replace it after several years of 24/7 operation.

What limit appears first during sustained loads on the i9-14900K?

The CPU hits its configured power ceiling and the firmware reduces frequency to stay within that envelope before the 360 mm AIO reaches thermal saturation.
