Steps Up From Mid-Range Builds

The combination of a high-end GPU and fast PCIe 4.0 storage removes bottlenecks seen in systems with lesser graphics cards or SATA drives. The jump is worth it when you need 4K gaming headroom or faster render times in creative applications.

Check Your Space and Peripherals

The Corsair 4000D case measures 490 x 239 x 486 mm, so confirm it fits your desk area. You will need a display with a suitable input for the RTX 5080 and any USB devices you plan to connect to the rear Type-C or Type-A ports.

Questions about this item

What case clearance is required for the 240 mm liquid cooler radiator?

The Corsair 4000D chassis measures 490 mm deep by 239 mm wide by 486 mm high and includes mounts for a 240 mm radiator, so the cooler fits inside without modification.

Which motherboard power connectors must be seated for the Ryzen 5 9600X and RTX 5080, and which step is most often missed?

Connect the 24-pin ATX cable, the 8-pin EPS cable near the CPU socket, and the 12VHPWR cable to the graphics card; builders frequently forget the EPS connector because it sits behind the radiator tubes.

How many M.2 slots remain free for future SSD upgrades after the 1 TB Samsung 990 PRO is installed?

The PRIME X870-P board provides four M.2 connectors; one is occupied by the factory drive, leaving three open slots for additional NVMe storage.
