Core Ultra 9 285K workstation

This desktop pairs a 24-core Intel Core Ultra 9 285K with 192GB DDR5 and an RTX 5080 16GB GPU. It targets professionals who need heavy multi-threaded compute for rendering, modelling and AI learning workloads. The Z890 motherboard provides four memory slots, all populated at the 192GB maximum.

360mm liquid cooling and 1000W Gold PSU

A 360mm quiet-edition AIO handles the CPU while a Thermaltake Toughpower 1000W 80 PLUS Gold unit supplies power. Japanese capacitors and a 140mm low-noise fan keep audible output low during typical creative sessions. Front intake uses two 140mm PWM fans for steady airflow.

Sustained load on 24 cores and RTX 5080

Under continuous rendering or AI training the liquid loop and case fans maintain thermal headroom without aggressive spin-up. The 2TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe delivers up to 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write for large asset streaming. The 10TB HDD with 256MB cache provides bulk storage for project archives.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 360 mm liquid cooler on the LGA 1851 socket, and which step is often missed?

Mount the supplied bracket for LGA 1851, apply thermal paste, secure the cold plate, then connect the pump header and route the 360 mm radiator fans to the CPU fan header so speed curves respond to coolant temperature.

What maintenance or replacement will the 360 mm AIO and 1000 W Gold PSU need later?

The AIO is sealed; plan to replace the whole unit if pump noise rises or coolant loss appears after several years. The PSU fan may need cleaning or replacement, and electrolytic capacitors age after long 24‑core loads.

What limit appears first during sustained 24‑core rendering at 5.70 GHz?

The 360 mm radiator surface area and pump flow rate cap coolant heat removal, so CPU package temperature hits its throttle point before the 1000 W PSU or VRM thermal limits are reached.
