Liquid-cooled Ryzen 7 9800X3D workstation

This desktop pairs an 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D with a 240 mm liquid cooler, 192 GB DDR5 and a 4 TB NVMe drive. It targets creators and engineers who need sustained multi-threaded throughput in a mid-tower chassis running Windows 11 Pro.

Upgrade from air-cooled 64 GB systems

Builders moving from 64 GB air-cooled rigs gain the thermal headroom to hold 5.20 GHz boost clocks across all 16 threads during long renders. The jump is worth it when timeline exports or compile jobs saturate memory bandwidth for hours at a time.

PCIe 4.0 storage and Wi-Fi 7 ceiling

The Samsung 990 PRO tops out at 7 450 MB/s read and 6 900 MB/s write on the platform’s 4.0 lanes, so heavier I/O workloads will queue behind that limit. Wi-Fi 7 2x2 caps real-world throughput below the 40 Gbps USB4 ports, making wired links essential for large dataset transfers.

Questions about this item

What case clearance does the 240 mm AIO liquid cooler require?

The 240 mm AIO fits the Antec P20 mid-tower, which measures 469 mm deep, 220 mm wide and 490 mm high, with front mounts for three 120 mm fans.

Which motherboard power cables must be seated for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and RTX 5070, and what is the common oversight?

Connect the 850 W PSU's 24-pin ATX, 8-pin CPU EPS and the GPU PCIe power cables; builders often forget the second 8-pin CPU plug on the PRIME X870-P.

When will the Samsung 990 PRO 4 TB NVMe SSD likely need replacement under heavy write workloads?

The drive is rated for up to 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write; plan a health check after several petabytes written, typical for high-endurance PCIe 4.0 SSDs.
