Workstation gaming desktop

This system combines an eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor with a GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card for modelling, video editing, rendering and AI learning workloads. It ships with Windows 11 Pro installed and uses liquid cooling to manage thermals in a mid-tower chassis.

Upgrade from air-cooled builds

The 240 mm liquid cooler replaces standard air cooling on the CPU, making the jump worthwhile when sustained multi-core loads push temperatures higher than air can handle. Four memory slots are fully populated with 192 GB of DDR5, leaving no room for further RAM expansion.

Build integration needs

The PRIME X870-P motherboard provides USB4, USB 10 Gbps and USB 5 Gbps rear ports plus internal headers for front-panel connectivity. A 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold power supply delivers power to the GPU and CPU, while the 4 TB NVMe SSD occupies one of four M.2 slots. The case includes three 120 mm front fans, dust filters on three sides and supports E-ATX boards.

Questions about this item

Will the 240 mm AIO cooler and 469 x 220 x 490 mm case fit on my desk?

The mid-tower case measures 469 mm deep, 220 mm wide and 490 mm high, and the 240 mm radiator mounts inside the front panel, so allow at least that footprint plus cable clearance.

Which step do builders miss when installing the 192 GB DDR5 kit on the PRIME X870-P board?

Populate all four slots with the matched 192 GB kit, then enable EXPO in the BIOS so the memory runs at its rated speed instead of the default JEDEC profile.

When should I plan to replace the 1200 W Gold PSU in this workstation?

A quality 1200 W Gold unit typically lasts seven to ten years; swap it if you hear coil whine, see voltage drift under load, or upgrade to a GPU that demands substantially more power.
