8-Core Ryzen 7 Workstation

This workstation centres on an eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor running at 4.7 GHz with a 5.20 GHz boost and 96 MB of L3 cache. It targets engineers, designers and AI developers who need high single-thread speed and large cache for CAD modelling, simulation and machine-learning workloads. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro 64-bit and is marked AI Ready.

240 mm Liquid Cooling & 850 W Bronze PSU

A 240 mm quiet-edition AIO cooler handles the CPU thermal load while two front 120 mm RGB fans and a rear 120 mm fan move air through the Pop Air tempered-glass case. The Thermaltake Smart 850 W 80 PLUS Bronze supply uses a 140 mm fan and Japanese main capacitors, delivering over-voltage, under-voltage, over-power and short-circuit protection at low noise levels.

1 TB Samsung 990 PRO & 10 TB HDD

The boot drive is a 1 TB Samsung 990 PRO PCIe 4.0x4 NVMe SSD rated for 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write. A 10 TB hard drive with 256 MB cache adds bulk storage for project libraries and datasets. The TUF X870-PLUS motherboard provides four M.2 slots and two SATA 6 Gb/s ports for future expansion.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 240mm AIO liquid cooler on the AM5 socket, and what step is often missed?

Mount the supplied AM5 bracket onto the motherboard backplate, apply thermal paste, then secure the cold plate with the four thumb-screws in a cross pattern; the step often missed is removing the protective film from the cold-plate base before seating it.

Which components in this workstation are most likely to need replacement after several years of heavy use?

The 850W PSU 140mm fan and the 120mm case fans are the primary wear items; the 10TB HDD mechanical drive may also require replacement before the SSD or memory.

What thermal or power limit appears first when the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell run sustained workloads?

The CPU typically hits its 5.20 GHz boost ceiling and 96 MB L3 cache thermal threshold first, causing clock scaling back before the GPU reaches its power limit.
