Custom Ryzen 7 9800X3D Gaming Desktop

This new mid-tower system pairs an 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti graphics card. It ships with Windows 11 Pro, 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 4TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSD. A 240mm liquid cooler and an 850W 80 PLUS Bronze power supply complete the build.

Suited for 1440p gaming and content work.

The eight-core CPU with 96MB L3 cache handles modern titles and media editing smoothly. The single RTX 5060 Ti fits the PCI Express x16 slot and the 850W unit powers the configuration. Builders who need a second graphics card or more than 192GB of memory should look at a different platform.

GPU has 8GB VRAM on PCI Express x16

The graphics card provides 8GB of video memory connected through a PCI Express x16 interface. This capacity and link define the texture budget and bandwidth available for gaming at 1440p resolution.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 240 mm liquid CPU cooler on the AM5 socket, and what step is often missed?

Mount the supplied AM5 bracket, apply thermal paste, secure the cold plate, then connect the pump header and both radiator fans to the motherboard; the step most people miss is plugging the pump into the dedicated AIO_PUMP header instead of a standard fan header.

Which components will need replacement first, and what are the limits?

The 850 W 80 PLUS Bronze PSU and the 240 mm AIO pump are the earliest wear items; the PSU uses Japanese main capacitors rated for long life, while the AIO pump typically runs several years before coolant loss or bearing noise appears.

What thermal or power limit appears first during extended gaming?

The Ryzen 7 9800X3D hits its 96 MB L3 cache and 5.20 GHz boost ceiling, and the RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB VRAM fills before the 850 W PSU or the 240 mm radiator reach their limits.
