Custom 16-Core Liquid-Cooled Workstation

This desktop pairs a 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X processor with 128GB of DDR5 memory and a 360mm liquid cooler. A GeForce RTX 5060 Ti graphics card handles gaming and creative workloads. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed on a 4TB NVMe drive alongside a 10TB hard drive for bulk storage.

Upgrade From Mid-Range Air-Cooled Builds

The jump is worth it when your current system throttles during long renders or compile jobs. Liquid cooling keeps the 16-core CPU at higher boost clocks for longer. The 128GB DDR5 kit removes memory bottlenecks in heavy multitasking. Dual high-capacity drives eliminate the need to shuffle projects between external disks.

Check Motherboard And Power Headroom

Verify your existing AM5 board supports the 9950X with a BIOS update before transplanting the CPU. The 850W 80 PLUS Bronze unit powers this configuration; confirm your chassis has clearance for a 360mm radiator and the 469mm case depth. Ensure the 4TB NVMe slot uses PCIe 4.0x4 lanes for full 7450 MB/s read performance.

Questions about this item

What case clearance does the 360 mm liquid cooler need in the Antec P20 mid-tower?

The 360 mm radiator fits the top of the 469 x 220 x 490 mm chassis; 3 x 120 mm front fans and bottom, front and top dust filters are already installed.

Which motherboard power connectors must be seated for the Ryzen 9 9950X on the TUF X870-PLUS?

Insert the 24-pin ATX and the 8-pin EPS cables from the 850 W 80 PLUS Bronze PSU; the CPU draws up to 5.70 GHz boost so both are required.

How many DDR5 slots remain free after the 128 GB kit is installed?

The board has 4 total slots and supports up to 192 GB; the 128 GB kit occupies all 4 slots so no slots remain for later expansion.
