Workstation for CAD and modelling

The system pairs a sixteen-core AMD Ryzen 9 9950X processor with 192GB DDR5 memory and an Nvidia RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell GPU carrying 24GB video memory. It targets engineers and designers running SolidWorks, CAD, CAM and CAE workloads that demand high core counts and professional graphics drivers. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on a 2TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drive while a 10TB hard drive adds bulk storage.

Thermals and power in daily use

A 360mm quiet-edition liquid cooler handles the CPU while three 120mm front fans and a 140mm power-supply fan move air through the Antec P20 mid-tower case. The Thermaltake Smart 850W 80 PLUS Bronze unit supplies power with over-voltage, under-voltage, over-power and short-circuit protection. Dust filters on bottom, front and top panels reduce internal buildup during normal operation.

Behaviour under sustained load

The liquid cooler and case airflow are sized to dissipate heat from the 16-core CPU and professional GPU during extended rendering or simulation runs. The 850W power supply maintains stable delivery across all rails when both processor and graphics card operate at peak simultaneously. Rear I/O includes two USB4 ports at 40Gbps, one USB 10Gbps, three USB 5Gbps and four USB 2.0 ports alongside Intel 2.5Gb Ethernet and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.

Questions about this item

How is the 360 mm liquid cooler installed, and what step do people get wrong?

The 360 mm radiator mounts to the case top or front using the included brackets; the step often missed is orienting the tubes at the bottom of the radiator so air cannot collect in the pump block.

What maintenance or replacement will the 192 GB DDR5 memory need later?

DDR5 modules are sealed and require no user maintenance; if a stick fails it must be replaced as a matched kit to keep quad-channel operation stable.

What limit shows up first under sustained load on the RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell 24 GB?

The 850 W Bronze PSU caps total system draw, so prolonged full GPU and 16-core CPU load will hit the power-supply limit before the GPU thermal throttle engages.
