Workstation for CAD and Simulation

This system pairs a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 9950X processor with an Nvidia RTX PRO 5000 Blackwell graphics card carrying 48GB of memory. It is built for engineers and designers running SolidWorks, CAM toolpaths or CAE solvers that demand both high single-thread frequency and large GPU memory. The 48GB DDR5 system memory and 8TB NVMe storage keep large assemblies resident without paging.

Installation and Common Issues

The tower arrives fully assembled with a 360mm liquid cooler already mounted to the AM5 socket, so no cooler installation is required. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and activated. The most frequent issue is ensuring the motherboard BIOS recognises the two 4TB Samsung 990 PRO drives at their rated PCIe 4.0 speeds; a BIOS update may be needed if the drives report lower throughput.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Under continuous multi-hour renders or finite-element analyses the 1200W 80 PLUS Gold power supply delivers stable power while the 360mm radiator and 140mm fan keep CPU temperatures controlled. The RTX PRO 5000 Blackwell maintains its boost clocks without throttling thanks to the case airflow path. System memory can be expanded to 192GB across the four DDR5 slots if future projects exceed the factory 48GB.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X is boosting to 5.70 GHz under load?

Open Task Manager or a monitoring tool such as HWInfo and watch the CPU clock while running a heavy render or simulation; sustained speeds near 5.70 GHz show the 360 mm liquid cooler is keeping thermals in check.

What ships inside the Corsair 4000D case and what must I add myself?

The tower arrives fully assembled with the X870 motherboard, 48 GB DDR5, two 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO SSDs, a 10 TB hard drive, the RTX PRO 5000 48 GB GPU, 1200 W Gold PSU and Windows 11 Pro — only a monitor, keyboard and mouse are needed.

Which memory configuration should I pick if I plan to expand to 192 GB later?

The board has four DDR5 slots; the current 48 GB kit occupies two of them, leaving two free for matching modules so you can reach the 192 GB maximum without replacing the original sticks.
