16-core liquid-cooled desktop for creators

This system pairs a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 9950X processor with 64GB DDR5 memory and a 360mm liquid cooler. A GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB GPU handles graphics workloads. The 2TB NVMe SSD and 10TB HDD provide fast boot and bulk storage. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

PCIe 4.0 storage ceiling and single-GPU expansion

The Samsung 990 PRO SSD reaches 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write on the motherboard's PCIe 4.0 lanes. Four M.2 slots exist, but only one GPU can be installed in the single x16 slot. Rear I/O includes USB4 at 40Gbps, 10Gbps and 5Gbps USB ports, plus 2.5Gb Ethernet and Wi-Fi 7 wireless.

Check PSU headroom and case clearance before

The 850W 80 PLUS Bronze unit powers the current build; verify remaining wattage for extra cards or drives. The Antec P20 case accepts two 3.5-inch and two 2.5-inch internal bays. Front panel offers USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and USB 3.0 ports. No optical drive bay is present.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 2TB NVMe SSD or the 10TB HDD for my main games?

The 2TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drive delivers read speeds up to 7450 MB/s and write speeds up to 6900 MB/s, so games load much faster than from the 10TB HDD. Use the HDD for media and backups.

What does the 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X at 4.3GHz actually deliver in daily work?

Sixteen cores and thirty-two threads with a boost up to 5.70 GHz give strong multi-threaded performance for rendering, compiling and heavy multitasking while keeping single-thread speed high for gaming.

What does the USB4 40Gbps port on the X870 motherboard cap in practice?

The two rear USB4 Type-C ports run at 40Gbps, allowing fast external NVMe enclosures and high-resolution displays, but actual throughput depends on the connected device and cable quality.
